About Us

Originally built in 1951 as Hillcrest Elementary, this historic building has continually evolved to meet the needs of Lebanon R-III students. Once a neighborhood elementary and later a 6th-grade center, it is now home to Hillcrest Education Center, serving high school students through alternative education and real-world learning opportunities. The 2024–25 school year marked the 25th year Lebanon R-III has provided an alternative school option, continuing a proud legacy student success.
Hillcrest supports more than 100 students each year through programs such as the Human Resource Development Center (HRDC), which offers on-campus work experiences and community electronic recycling; Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG), an award-winning program that builds leadership and employability skills; and Community-Based Instruction (CBI), which helps students gain independence and workforce readiness through hands-on community learning.
Today, Hillcrest Education Center continues its long tradition of service, helping every student discover their strengths and prepare for life beyond high school.
